Egypt's annual urban inflation reached 7.6% in March

Inflation in Egypt's urban areas eased to 7.6% in the 12 months to March, from 8.2% in February

Egypt’s urban Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 7.6 percent in the 12 months to March, recording 131.9 points, state statistics body (CAPMAS) announced on Wednesday.

The annual urban inflation rate in March was lower than the 8.2 percent recorded in the 12 months to February 2013.

Month-on-month the urban inflation rate grew by 0.6 percent in March compared to February 2013, CAPMAS stated.

Rural inflation was up 0.9 percent in March 2013 compared to the month before, CAPMAS said.
