Egypt’s national carrier switched its flights from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 at Cairo International Airport on Wednesday after service workers staged a strike.

Around 120 Cairo airport workers gathered at the landing strip of Terminal 3 on Wednesday to demand for better financial conditions, causing EgyptAir to change terminals.

"A rumour spread across the airport that the workers wouldn't be paid their bonuses. This is the main reason for the strike, but it isn’t true at all," an anonymous official at the capital’s airport told Ahram Online.

Alongside with the service workers, customs workers at Cairo airport continued on strike for the second consecutive day to demand for better pay and working conditions.
