Striking workers say they have been owed payments for five months, accusing management of intentional delay

Workers at a public sector textile factory in Damietta have demanded the sacking of the factory's management for delaying payments of financial allowances for over five months.

The workers, who have been on strike since Tuesday, issued a statement Wednesday demanding the removal of the factory's executive board for "intentionally" ignoring their demands.

"Our problem with delays in our payments has been going on for years," said the statement, which stressed that the workers will continue protesting until their demands are met.

Workers at the textile factory accuse the management of delaying their due allowances for 168 days.
