The chairman of the Egyptian stock exchange, Khaled Serry Syam resigned today and within a few hours Mohamed Abdel Salam was announced as his replacement.
'The bourse will reopen on Wednesday” the new chairman announced exclusively to Ahram Online.
Abdul Salam is the former chairman of Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry and he will remain in both posts for the next six months.
Egypt’s bourse closed early on during the revolution on 28 January and has not opened since.
