Egypt's stocks close week in green after run of gains

Listed shares at Egyptian bourse were actively traded on Thursday, recording high daily turnover

Egypt’s stocks closed up the trading week in green on Thursday with a daily turnover of listed securities surpassing LE1billion for the third consecutive session.

The market’s benchmark EGX30 rose 0.6 percent, hitting a new record high of 7,892 points.

Domestic investors were net buyer with some LE1.8 million, following runs of selling in previous sessions.

Foreign investors ended trading as net sellers at some LE4.1 million, driving down big cap share Commercial International Bank (CIB) 1.5 percent to register LE36 per share.

Telecom Egypt slightly declined 0.3 percent to close at LE15 per share.

Property shares Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) and Palm Hills Development (PHD) rose 3.1 percent per each, reaching LE7.6 and LE3.3 per share respectively.

The real-estate developer Six of October Development and Investment (SODIC) increased 1.8 percent, selling at LE25.2 per share.

The broader index EGX70 went up 0.2 percent.
