This partnership seeks to fully harness the capabilities of ITIDA's Software Engineering Competence Centre (SECC).

The SECC is a main provider of advanced technology services and consultancy, focusing on enhancing technical skills and strengthening the internal capabilities of information and communication technology (ICT) companies.

It also offers assessment and appraisal services, aligned with international standards and models.

This MoU aligns with ITIDA’s vision to boost Egypt’s software industry to a globally competitive level, aiming to equip software companies with a full support system including training, accreditation, and consulting, ITIDA's CEO Ahmed Elzaher explained.

“We aim to support the growth of these companies, increase their competitiveness, and enhance their capabilities for international market penetration. Such practices elevate the quality of software development processes and strengthen Egypt’s position as a global delivery hub for IT services,” he added.

Through this collaboration, DXC aims to develop experienced and skilled professionals to work on exporting Egyptian software projects globally, Neveen Galal, managing director at DXC Technology Egypt, clarified.

“We believe in the capabilities and skills of software developers and that Egypt is capable of achieving excellence,” she affirmed.

This comes against the backdrop of Egypt preparing to become a global hub for outsourcing and digital exports

The outsourcing services sector grew by 54.2 percent during FY2023/2024. Similarly, digital exports increased by 26 percent from $4.9 billion in 2022 to $6.2 billion in 2023.

Moreover, Egypt has over 300,000 ICT professionals and 130,000 full-time equivalents (FTEs) ready to support these efforts.

The country also generates a large number of graduates each year in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines, maintaining a steady flow of skilled talents.

Its proficiency in multiple languages, offering services in more than 20 languages, boosts its appeal as a leading IT/BPO delivery centre and an attractive destination for investment.
