Sales of new vehicles fell 5.5 per cent across the 27-nation European Union in 2010, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) said Friday.
In total, 13.36 million new vehicles were registered in EU countries, excepting Malta and Cyprus, where data was not available.
Sales fell for the ninth continuous month in December to 1,008,638 -- a 3.2 per cent year-on-year drop. This drop, however, was less than in November, which saw a fall of 7.1 per cent, and October, with a sharp 16.6 per cent decrease.
