Air Canada operated its first non-stop flight between Cairo and Montreal on Saturday, a statement by the Canadian flag carrier said.
The airline has designated Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft for the Cairo-Montreal route, according to an announcement made during a ceremony held by Air Canada and Excel Travel in Cairo Wednesday.
Excel Travel is Air Canada’s official representative in Egypt for managing sales on its new route.
Air Canada, the Star Alliance founder, will operate three flights per week with the capacity of 255 seats offering a choice of three cabins of service: Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy class.
Wednesday’s ceremony was attended by high-rank officials from the Canadian embassy in Cairo, the regional manager of air Canada and President and CEO of Excel Travel George Fawzi.
