Canada Egypt and Canada Arab business councils ink MoU to boost trade in Egypt, MENA

The Canada Egypt Business Council (CEBC) and Canada Arab Business Council (CABC) signed on Sunday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Dubai to expand socio-economic bilateral ties and boost trade and investment between Canada and Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The MoU was signed by Moataz Raslan, the CEBC’s chairperson, and Scott Jolliffe, the CABC’s chairperson, in the presence of Mary Ng, the minister of international trade, export promotion, small business, and economic development of Canada.

Raslan confirmed that expanding Canadian trade and investment with Egypt and the rest of MENA is a priority to global post-pandemic economic recovery efforts.

He added that both the CEBC and CABC will be working closely to enhance bilateral Canadian trade and investment ties in the region by supporting companies in exploring business and investment opportunities and highlighting Canadian expertise, collaborative relationships, and emerging technologies.

The CEBC is a non-governmental association that focuses on promoting trade and investment between Canada and Egypt. The council works closely with officials from the business sector, international organisations, and the governments in both countries to enhance socio-economic bilateral ties by supporting constructive dialogue and business matchmaking opportunities in addition to fostering trade missions to Canada to promote stronger trade and economic relations between both countries.
