Egypt bourse gains EGP 8.5 bn, all indexes up

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) continued its upward trend as all indices were up at at start of this week's trading session backed by purchase operations by institutions and local and foreign investment funds.

The market capital gained about EGP 8.5 billion to reach EGP 711.01 billion after transactions hit EGP 2.8 billion.

The benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.89 percent to reach 10,356.31 points.

The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) jumped 0.61 percent, hitting 2,287.96 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index followed suit with 0.61 percent taking the index up to 3,276.18 points.
