Market Watch: Gold pound trades at EGP 18,000 on Thursday, EGX30 up 0.05 percent

Gold prices rose inched up for the second day in a row on Thursday but the market remains stable with no major changes, and EGX30 index was by 0.05 percent.



Gold prices

The price of 24-carat gold fell by EGP 11.25 on Thursday compared to the same time on Wednesday to reach EGP 2,571.5 per gram.

The 21-carat gold price fell by EGP 10, recording EGP 2,270.

The price of 18-carat gold went down by EGP 8.75, reaching EGP 1,928.5 per gram.

The price of a gold pound decreased by EGP 80 on Thursday, reaching EGP 18,000.

Stock market

EGX30 rose 0.05 percent and closed at 17,881.52 points.

EGX70 declined by 1.04 percent and closed at 3,466.77 points.

EGX100 inched lower by 0.82 percent to 5,163.21 points.

The market cap declined on Thursday by around EGP 3.5 billion, compared to Wednesday, to end at around EGP 1.163 trillion.

The top gainer was A Capital Holding, rising 8.91 percent and closing at EGP 0.379.

The top loser was Belton Financial Holding, falling by 6.54 percent and closing at EGP 3.57.


The official market's buying price for the dollar is EGP 30.84, and the selling price is around EGP 30.94, with no considerable fluctuations.

The euro rose slightly on Thursday to nearly EGP 33.4 for buying and around EGP 33.52 for selling.

The Saudi riyal's buying price stands at EGP 8.22, and the selling price at EGP 8.25.
