Gold prices surged and the 24-carat hit EGP 3,760 per gram. The Egyptian Exchange ended the first session of the week with mixed performance.
Stock market
The EGX30 index edged lower by 0.02 percent, settling at 25,344 points.
In contrast, the EGX70 index rose 1.52 percent, ending at 5,764 points and the EGX100 index increased by 1.21 percent, closing at 8,250 points.
Market cap gained around EGP 5 billion to end at EGP 1,752 billion.
The top performer in the market today was Mena Touristic & Real Estate Investment, which surged 19.93 percent to end at EGP 1.41.
On the other hand, the worst performer was Rowad Tourism, which dropped 4.66 percent to close at EGP 29.24.
Gold purchase prices
The purchase price of 24-carat gold rose by EGP 133 to EGP 3,760 per gram on Monday, compared to last week’s prices.
The 21-carat gold price increased by EGP 80 to reach EGP 3,290 per gram, and the 18-carat gold price went up by EGP 69 to EGP 2,820 per gram.
The price of the gold pound reached EGP 26,320 for purchase, EGP 640 higher than last week.

Currencies
The official EGP/USD exchange rate remains stable at EGP 30.8272 for buying and EGP 30.9586 for selling.
The euro is valued at EGP 33.7187 for purchase and EGP 33.8749 for sale.
The Saudi riyal is priced at EGP 8.2199 for buying and EGP 8.2554 for selling.
In the parallel market, the USD reached EGP 54.4 for each pound.
