Philip Morris Egypt has released a new price list for its heated tobacco products, HEETS and TEREA, and traditional cigarette brands Merit, Marlboro, and L&M in all their varieties.
The company reassured adult smokers and nicotine users that the updated prices, effective from Friday, are transparently displayed on product packaging via a QR code, a feature introduced on packs of cigarettes and heated tobacco rolls in 2022.
Ali Nevzat Karaman, general manager of Philip Morris Egypt and Levant, stated that the company is committed to meeting the needs of adult smokers and nicotine users in Egypt while supporting its ambitious vision of a smoke-free future.
According to the new prices, a pack of Merit cigarettes will now cost EGP 95, up from EGP 90, while a pack of Marlboro cigarettes increased from EGP 84 to EGP 89.
Meanwhile, a pack of L&M cigarettes will now cost EGP 69, up from EGP 64.
The official price for a pack of HEETS Selections heated tobacco sticks, HEETS Dimensions heated tobacco sticks, and Terea heated tobacco sticks increased from EGP 64 to EGP 69, while Terea Capsules went from EGP 69 to EGP 74.
The company urged retailers and distributors to adhere to the announced prices.
The last time Philip Morris Egypt raised the prices of its products was in April.
On Tuesday, Egypt’s largest tobacco producer, Eastern Company, raised the price of its local products, including cigarettes, by 12 percent.
Earlier in May 2024, Philip Morris Egypt announced that it acquired an indirect 14.7 percent minority stake in Eastern Company.
