Arkab's comments came during his meeting on Thursday with Egyptian Ambassador to Algeria Ayman Mosharafa to probe means of fostering bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, in the presence of CEOs of El Sewedy Electric and Petrojet.

They also discussed the possibility of cementing cooperation in the areas of energy, mining, hydrocarbon conversion, electricity transmission and gas marketing.

The Algerian energy minister pointed to the newly-passed fuel law, which provides many privileges to investors and allows the government to make exploration contracts that match all the laws of major countries.

On his part, Mosharafa said that Egyptian companies are highly interested in expanding their businesses and presence in the Algerian market.
