Raya Auto, a subsidiary of Raya Holding for Financial Investments and Egypt’s first authorized dealer for electric vehicles, has launched Electra, a new brand focused on EV-charging solutions, in partnership with Sungrow, a global leader in renewable-energy technologies and power-conversion systems.

`

Electra will offer home chargers, AC chargers, and ultra-fast DC chargers with capacities of up to 180 kW, designed to meet the growing needs of Egypt’s electric-vehicle market.

Using Sungrow’s advanced isolated air-cooling technology, Electra provides faster charging, smart load management, and high energy efficiency, setting a new standard for EV infrastructure in the country.

The partnership aims to boost the development of Egypt’s electric-mobility ecosystem.

“As Egypt’s first authorized EV dealer, we are committed to introducing advanced technologies to the market and building the supporting ecosystem. Bringing electric vehicles to Egypt is only the first step; our goal is to improve the full user experience and remove barriers to wider EV adoption," Mohamed Al-Naggar, CEO of Raya Auto, said.

"Electra represents this commitment. Through our partnership with Sungrow, we are introducing advanced charging technology while supporting sector growth and helping more people transition to EVs with confidence. With high quality, speed, flexibility, and 24/7 technical support, Electra offers a seamless and reliable charging experience for every EV owner,” he added.

Mostafa Mohamed, North Africa director at Sungrow, said, “With Raya Auto’s market expertise and our technological leadership, Electra is set to transform Egypt’s charging network and accelerate the shift toward cleaner, more sustainable mobility.”

Raya Auto plans to expand Electra beyond home and commercial chargers by building a public charging network across East and West Cairo, as well as along major highways and intercity routes.

This aims to address one of the main challenges for EV adoption in Egypt: the availability and convenience of charging stations.

Sungrow has over 28 years of experience in renewable-energy technologies. As of June 2025, it has deployed 870 GW of power-conversion equipment worldwide.

Its portfolio includes solar inverters, energy-storage systems, and advanced EV-charging technologies.

Sungrow’s solutions are available in more than 30 countries, supporting long-term growth and maximizing the value of clean-energy investments.
