In a statement, the ministry added that "statements attributed to Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi regarding this matter were completely false and unfounded."
The statement clarified that the minister did not make any statements to Egyptian Radio containing such information, nor has the ministry or any of its affiliated entities issued any official announcements or statements related to the claims appearing in the circulated content.
The ministry further emphasized that any projects, agreements, or contracts related to petroleum or mining activities are announced exclusively through the ministry’s official channels and those of its affiliated authorities and companies, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and the availability of correct information to the public.
The statement affirmed the ministry’s right to take the necessary legal measures against those who promote false news and misinformation attributed to the ministry or its officials.
The ministry also noted that developing the country's mining sector and increasing its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) remain among its top priorities.
The statment added that the state’s mining sector is currently undergoing positive transformations through comprehensive reforms aimed at creating a more attractive and competitive investment environment, maximizing the benefits of mineral resources, and expanding opportunities for partnerships with both local and international investors.
