Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived midday Thursday to Sharm El-Sheikh ahead of the economic conference scheduled to start on Friday and to last for three days, State news agency MENA reported.
A total of 112 countries will be represented at the conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, of which 30 heads of state are expected.
Egypt is hoping to lure back investors to bolster its economy battered by four years of political upheaval. The conference will showcase the countries latest fiscal and legal reforms, along with investment opportunities.
Besides presenting its economic vision, the government aims for the conference to include presenting investment opportunities in a variety of sectors, and proposing specific projects, according to minister of international cooperation Naglaa Al-Ahwany.
