إن كان لك قريب لا تشاركه و لا تناسبه

Translation: If you have a blood relation, don’t go into business with him nor allow marriage between your children

Meaning: People who are related to you by blood are precious, so don’t risk alienating them by getting too close. If you get into business with a blood relative and things go wrong, you’d be worse off than if you were in business with a stranger. And if a marriage between your offspring were to go wrong, you’d not hear the end of it. Play it safe, then, and keep blood relations at a sweet and safe distance.
