"I am a lover of heritage and arts in general and I founded the foundation two years ago, after earning my master's degree in Milan and working with Megawra and UNESCO," explained architect Omar Zahran, founder of Revive Egypt Foundation, to Ahram Online.
"We are focused on heritage and arts, revitalization of both as well as the heritage and cultural spaces, in addition to raising awareness," he added.
Revive Egypt's first event was held in 2025, under the slogan "The City On Screen." The event explored the relationship between heritage and cinema. It was held at Beit El Sennari, and it was very well received.
Under the slogan Invisible Layers, Untold Stories, "This year's event is focused on the heritage of the city, architecture, music, art, and literature icons of Cairo, " Zahran added.
The one-week event will include heritage walks. A schedule for the event will be announced.
