Marseille’s Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew revealed on Monday that he is confident about the Black Stars' ability to go far in the African Cup of Nations after their fine performance against Mali on day two of the continental competition.
"This performance has given us more confidence and given us more belief that we can even go further," Andre Ayew told KickOff website on Monday.
The Black Stars topped their group D with six points after two successive victories against Botswana and Mali; they need a single point from their next game against Guinea to secure their qualification for the African Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
"I even believe that we haven't played 100 per cent of our football. There's so much more to do. Bit-by-bit we are climbing in the competition. We are getting better and better and I think that against Guinea, we will prove that we are getting better," he added.
Four-time African champions Ghana are looking for their first continental title since 1982, when they won the African Cup of Nations title in Libya.
