Qualifying campaign: Burkina Faso had an easy qualifying campaign with just two opponents in Group F and neither Gambia nor Namibia provided much opposition. However, their qualification was confirmed lately after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) threw out a protest from Namibia that Burkina Faso used an ineligible player – Cameroon-born defender Herve Zengue - in qualifying matches in March and June.
History: The best achievement of Burkina Faso, who made seven CAN appearances, was a fourth-place finish in 1998 when they hosted the tournament.
Expectations: Burkina Faso are the outsiders of Group B. They have a slim chance to book a last-eight berth but the second-place ticket will be up for grabs and they will have to battle against Angola and Sudan for it.
