Qualifying campaign: Botswana were the surprise package of CAN qualifiers as they were the first team to reach the finals, collecting 17 points from five wins, two draws and two defeats to finish on top of Group K.  In doing so, they secured impressive wins over more fancied opponents in Tunisia and Togo.

History: Botswana have never qualified for a major tournament.

Expectations: The Zebras, who were named by CAF as the team of the year 2011, are unlikely to make it through to the quarter-finals but they will be eager to prove their worth in their CAN debut. However they will seek to continue on surprising maybe by side-stepping Mali or co-hosts Gabon.
