Former presidential candidate Khaled Ali said on his twitter account after Morsi was announced as Egypt's new president that this is a victory to the revolution.
"Defeating Ahmed Shafiq is a defeat of Mubarak's regime... The revolution continues," the well known labour lawyer tweeted.
Ali headed to Tahrir square to celebarte Morsi's victory right after the elections results were announced --where Morsi received 52 per cent of the votes and Shafiq received 48 per cent-- with hundreds of thousand of Egyptians currently celebrating in the square, and who have been sitting-in there since last Friday protesting against the new constitutional declaration announced by ruling military council last week.
