With his announcement that Mohamed Morsi has been elected Egypt's next president, Judge Farouk Sultan put an end to a week of speculation in Egyptian and international media about who was set to take the hot seat.
Ahram Online, however, reported accurately tabulated results just a few hours after polling stations closed last Sunday night.
The final results announced by the Supreme Presidential Elections Committee (SPEC) on Sunday afternoon were as follows:
Morsi : 13,230,131 (52 per cent)
Shafiq : 12,347,380 (48 per cent)
