Head of the Supreme Presidential Electoral Commission (SPEC) Judge Hatem Bagato announced a meeting with all of the presidential candidates late Tuesday, which is the final day that candidates can withdraw. The commission further confirmed that none of the candidates has yet declared their withdrawal from the presidential race.

After Tuesday, candidates can no longer withdraw from the race and in case that someone does declare the withdrawal of their candidacy, their names will remain on the electoral cards from which voters will be choosing. 

Although no candidate has withdrawn from the presidential race, sources in the campaigns of candidates Hamdeen Sabbahi, Abul Ezz El-Hariri and Hisham Bastawisi claim that the three might agree on one unified candidate to represent the left forces in the upcoming presidential elections.
