Egypt's Mohamed Hamada qualifies for the Men's 800m in style after finishing first with a time of 1:48.05 in the initial heat

Egyptian star Mohamed Hamada finished first in round one of the Men's 800m with a time of 1:48.05 on Monday.

Hamada's semi-final qualification is a great result for the 19-year-old player who hopes to reach the final.

Egypt are looking to snatch a second medal  in the 2012 Olympic Games, as they clinched a silver after Fencer Alaaeddin Abul-Kassem defeated China's Sheng Leii 15-13 in the final of the men’s individual foil.
