Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah confirmed on Monday that he was ready to play the position of left-back with Ghana if boss Kwesi Appiah decided to field him.

Appiah moved Asamoah from central midfielder to left-back during Ghana's 2-2 draw against DR Congo in a Group B opener on Sunday.

"I can play in many positions. If the coach decides to field me as left-back, I have no problem," Asamoah was quoted as saying by football-italia on Monday.

"I play according to the coach's instructions and tactics. Overall, I'm very comfortable playing left-back," he added.

The Black Stars will meet Mali on Thursday in day two of the tournament.

Ghana are now third in group B with one point, only two points behind leaders Mali.
