Madinaty Golf Club will host its first open golf tournament, on Friday and Saturday, with the participation of 96 players representing the majority of golf clubs in Egypt.

 

Renowned homegrown talent Issa Abu El-Ela, the first Egyptian golfer to have won many local championships, has been appointed as an ambassador. 

 

The Madinaty Golf Championship is part of the Egyptian Golf Federation's (EGF) Medal of Merit, in which the best amateur golf players in Egypt will compete to win the Madinaty Open Championship.

 

The tournament will be held on the beautiful landscapes of the Madinaty golf courses, which have been designed according to the latest international standards and specifications by US golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jnr. 

 

Jones is one of the most famous specialists in golf course design worldwide, having designed more than 270 golf courses in 40 countries. His works are classified as being among the best golf course designs in the world.

 

International company, Troon, which specialises in managing and maintaining golf courses around the world, manages the golf courses in Madinaty.
