Egypt's men's volleyball team have exited the Rio Olympics after Argentina prevailed 3-0 against Cuba in the preliminary group stage on Saturday.

With Egypt already losing to Iran 3-0 earlier in the day, Argentina have secured their place in the quarter finals alongside Russia, Poland and Iran.

The first two sets were an end-to-end affair which eventually saw Iran narrowly overcome the Pharaohs with 28-26 and 25-22 wins respectively, unlike the last set where the Asians recorded a comfortable 25-16 victory.

With four teams qualifying for the next stage from the preliminary group stage, Egypt are currently fifth of Pool B on three points following losses to Poland, Russia, Iran and a single win over Cuba.

The Egyptians still have a game remaining against Argentina, their final group game.
