The administration of the 38th Cairo International Film Festival, headed by President Magda Wassef and artistic director Youssef Cherif Rizkallah, announced that director and screenwriter Mohamed Diab would join the festival's advisory committee.
The committee also includes actress Yousra, lawyer Mona Zulficar, screenwriter and producer Mohamed Hefzy, scriptwriter Mariam Naoum, director Dr. Mohamed Qaliouby, and critic Tarek El Shennawy.
Diab is an award-winning filmmaker, whose last movie Clash was selected to open Un Certian Regard section of the ongoing 69th Cannes Film Festival.
Prior to Clash, Diab wrote the scripts of several well-known Egyptian films, including El-Gezira 1 and 2 (2007 and 2014) and Decor (2014), among others.
His directorial debut came with Cairo 678 (2010), starring Bushra, Nelly Karim and Maged El-Kedwany.
