The new play 'Yaeish Ahl Balady' will continue its run through Eid El-Fitr at the National Theatre in Ataba, Cairo.
Written by Mohamed Boghdady and directed by Assem Nagaty, the play discusses the simple dreams of people in developing communities compared to developed countries.
The cast of the play, which premiered on 18 April, includes Ahmed Salama, Entisar, Mohamed Radwan, Hala Sorour, Zakaria Marouf and Mariam El-Bahrawy.
The Egyptian theatre scene has been quite active lately, with the National Theater staging 10 plays at its various venues. Private theatre companies have also been flourishing, with plays including Yehia El-Fakharany's ‘King Lear’ and Mohamed Henedy's ‘Talat Ayam Fil Sahel.’
