El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) opened on Saturday the exhibition of the late prominent Egyptian novelist Ihsan Abdel-Quddous at the TU Berlin El Gouna Campus.
The opening was attended by El Gouna Founder Samih Sawiris; the festival's founder Naguib Sawiris; the co-founder Amr Mansy; businessman Onsi Sawiris; the festival's director Intishal El-Tamimi; actress and COO and festival co-founder Boushra; actress Yousra; filmmaker Inas El-Deghedi and Ahmed Abdel-Quddous, the son of Ihsan Abdel-Quddous.
The exhibition commemorates the 100th birth anniversary of the late novelist, writer and journalist.
Abdel-Quddous was also an editor in Egypt's Al-Akhbar and Al-Ahram newspapers.
This is the first time that Abdel-Quddous’ personal belongings leave his house to be showcased in public.
The exhibition will run till 27 September.
The third edition of the GFF kicked off on Friday and runs till the 27th.

The exhibition showcases personal items of Abdel Quddous, borrowed from his house in Zamalek, such as his wooden desk that witnessed all his creative writings, personal portraits of him drawn by famous Egyptian artists and which were hung in his house.
It also features the original first editions of his books as well as the original posters of his films such as; La Anam (Sleepless), Embratouriyet Meim (Empire M), Al-Tariq Al-Masdoud (The Blocked Road), Ana Horra (I’m Free) and many others.

The exhibition includes the personal certificates of appreciation of Abdel-Quddous, bank check payments for some of his works, prizes and awards, the Nile Medal and others, as well as a collection of his personal pens, letters, original handwritten documents, journalistic works, rare photographs and caricature drawings of him.
