"Birth of Jesus", by Polish painter Józef Mehoffer (1869 - 1946), one of the Polish leading painters, graphic and decorative artists.
Polish singers and musicians will perform Christmas carols at the newly renovated Manasterly Palace on Friday 7 December.
The concert is a dynamic collaboration between the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Cultural Development Fund.
The concert will include Beata Koska (mezzo-soprano), Joanna Sperska (soprano) to the accompaniment of Maciej Gajski on piano.
The evening is moderated by Marek Wysoczynski, who since 1998 has been organising concerts of Polish songs in a variety of languages.
By invitation from the Polish Embassy, Wysoczynski was behind the organisation of Chopin's songs at the Goethe Institutes in Cairo and Alexandria a few months ago.
'Carols from All Over the World' has been performed in a variety of mesmerising locations around the globe: the Cathedral in Tunis, a monastery in Lisbon, the Franciscan church in Istanbul and the National Opera in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Piano recitals are within the regular activities of the Manasterly Palace. Wysoczynski recalls, however, how the piano was a great challenge in Dubrovnik’s Old Town (Croatia) where the instrument had to be carried up dozens of stairs in order to reach the recital's location at the Basilica.
The artist also recalls the special atmosphere that surrounded their performance in Turkey. "When artists sung Ave Maria in Turkish, the audience in the church started weeping."
With many locations visited and experiences gathered, Manasterly Palace in Cairo is among the best choices to complete the list.
