Al-Ahram annual book fair opens at Gezira Sports Club

Al-Ahram will build a public library for club members and will hold a photo exhibition that documents the great history of the Gezira Sports Club

Al-Ahram chairman Abdel-Mohsen Salama and President of Gezira Sports Club Amr Gazareen inaugurated the Al-Ahram annual book fair at Gezira Club on Sunday.

The ceremony was attended by Al-Ahram's general manager of distribution and contributions Ibrahim Al-Aqabawi, deputy president of Gezira Club Tarek Hashish, club board member Tarek Nassar, as well as a number of Al-Ahram officials and editors

Salama said that the annual book fair illustrates the crucial role played by Al-Ahram in spreading culture and awareness in Egyptian society, particularly among the youth.

Meanwhile, Salama and Gazareen agreed that Al-Ahram, in cooperation with the club, would build a public library for the club members as well as hold a photo exhibition that documents the great history of the Gezira Sports Club. They also discussed future cooperation between Al-Ahram Sports Club in the 5th Settlement district and Gezira Sports Club.   

In the opening, Al-Aqabawi said that Al-Ahram's book fair is being held for the fifth consecutive year at the Gezira Club given the great success of the previous fairs and the high turnout by club members.
