Russian artist Anna Vinchuk organised an online sports marathon on Monday 27 April which included fitness training, expressive performance and ballet training, and saw the participation of 200 young men and women from several countries, including Egypt.
Vinchuk, a professor at the Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow, an actress and a member of the International Society of the Arts, said that the goal of the marathon was to maintain fitness, improve mental state, raise self-confidence, maintain body beauty, boost morale, and get rid of excess weight.
“I am happy with the participation of Egypt in the online marathon; I met these Egyptian youth before at the International Russian Camp in the summer of 2019,” she said.
For his part, Alexey Tevanyan, director of the Russian Cultural Centre in Cairo, said he was happy with the participation of Egyptian young in this online sports meeting, and said that the centre will continue to perform its mission in building bridges of communication between the youth of Egypt and their Russian counterparts.
The dean of the Higher Institute of Ballet, Atef Awad, noted that the participation of the students of the institute in this Russian marathon comes after their success in taking part in the Russian camp last year, which reflects their high technical potentials, and which encouraged the marathon organisers to invite them to participate in the marathon.
The participating Egyptians were Salma Sameh, Abdullah Mahmoud, Omar Khaled and Romaysaa Khaled.
