The activities of the first International MicroTeatro Forum in Egypt, organised by the Cervantes Institute (the Spanish Cultural Centre) in Cairo and Alexandria in cooperation with the Higher Institute for Theatre Arts, Alexandria branch, concluded Wednesday evening at the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute in Dokki, with the participation of the dean of the Higher Institute for Theatre Arts, retired actress Nabila Hassan, and the newly named president of the Cervantes Institute in Cairo and Alexandria, Javier Ruiz Sierra.
The event witnessed the holding of a workshop via Zoom with the founders of the MicroTeatro, Veronica Larios and Miguel Alcantud, from the Spanish capital, Madrid. Sierra and Hassan honoured participants in the forum, which was held 13-16 December.
During the days of the forum, four of the MicroTeatro works translated into Arabic were shown; namely, “Y Punto” (That’s it) by Marc Egea, “Ajuste de cuentas” (Account Statement) by Robin Tikherina, “Flash Back” by Gabriel Pratico, and “Futurofobia” by Carolina Laursen.
The activities of the forum opened at the Freedom and Creativity Centre in Alexandria with speeches delivered by Hassan and Sierra.
