Italian film Human Capital ("Il Capitale Umano") is set to open the seventh edition of the Panorama of the European Film in Zawya cinema on Wednesday 19 November at 9pm.

The invitation only opening will feature a reception and screening of the film. Human Capital will also screen several times during the ten day event in both Downtown's Zawya cinema and Manial's Galaxy cinema.

Human Capital is an Italian-French co-production directed by one of Italy's most highly acclaimed directors, Paolo Virzi. The film has screened in numerous festivals and won more than 20 awards in film festivals such as Tribeca, David Di Donatello and is the Italian official submission for Best Foreign Film at the Academy awards.

Set in Brianza, the story tells of a young cyclist who is hit by a car whose critical condition merits the intensive involvement of two of the city’s most powerful families. Virzi uses the situation to draw a portrait of power and greed.
