American rapper Snoop Dogg recently teamed up with Iranian singer Amitis, producing a peculiar music video inspired by ancient Persia

The song titled King, by Amitis Moghaddam featuring Snoop Dogg, is soaked in ancient Persian visuals, featuring women smoking hookahs and other orientalist harem scenes.

Amitis is a Persian singer who lives in the United States, and is less known than Snoop Dogg. She usually sings in Farsi with the exception of this song.

Earlier in May, Snoop Dogg released another video for his song California Roll, featuring Stevie Wonder and Pharell Williams.

California Roll depicts a futuristic California, which includes the Egyptian pyramids, and ancient Egyptian wall drawings on skyscraper buildings.

Ancient Egypt has been on a roll inspiring music videos, most recently including Katy Perry whose song Dark Horse features the singer as an imaginary ancient Egyptian Queen Katy Patra.

Despite many visual references to ancient Egypt in Dark Horse, neither the lyrics, nor the music - which mixes electronic with pop and rap - have any relation to Egyptian culture and rely only on infusing the atmosphere of fables and magic into the song about a love relationship. At certain points viewers read the name of the imaginary Queen Katy Patra.
