Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits Egypt's cinemas

Following the international release on 14 December, Egyptian movie theatres will start to screen the newest film from the famed Star Wars Saga this week

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a continuation of the saga created by George Lucas which is set 30 years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, when Han Solo and his allies face a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren and his army of Stormtroopers.

Directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek Into Darkness, Mission: Impossible III), the new installment stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, Lupita Nyong'o, Simon Pegg, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Max von Sydow, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, and Adam Driver.

The film premiered in USA on 14 December and has been since released across most Europe.

According to IMDb, the film will be screened in Egypt starting 17 December.
