Eid film 'Hell in India' tops Egyptian box offices at 13 million

Hell in India (Gaheem fel Hind) is the top grossing film in Egyptian cinema theatres, garnering EGP 13,600 million since its release four days ago in time for Eid El-Fitr.

Directed by Moataz El-Touni, the film has broken recent records for Eid comedies over the past few years.

Starring Mohamed Adel Imam, Bayoumy Fouad, Yasmine Sabry and Ahmed Fathy, Hell in India centres on a group of researchers working on an India-based project.

Coming in second is the film 30 Years Ago (Men 30 Sana) starring Ahmed El-Sakka, Mona Zaki, Mervat Amin, grossing over EGP 1 million.

Abo Shanab, starring Yasmine Abdelaziz and Dhaffer L’Abidine, ranked as the third highest grossing Eid in film, 30 Yom Fi El-Ezz (30 days of Luxury) starring Saad El-Sagheer and Ahmed Falawkas ranked fourth, while White Honey (Assal Abyad) starring Sameh Hussein and Merhan Hussein came in fifth.
