The promo for Ramez Galal's new prank show, titled Ramez Lost His Mind, has garnered 7 million views on Facebook only 12 hours since its release by MBC.

The season was shot in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and will be aired exclusively on MBC channel.

The promo features many Egyptian celebrities and promises viewers many surprises. Celebrities expected to feature on the show include Dina El-Sherbiny, Ahmed Saad, Mohamed Heneidy, Ramadan Sobhi, Somaya El-Khashab, Marwan Mohsen, Hamada Hilal, Ahmed Malek, and many others.

The new season of the show was announced earlier this year with the working title Ramez is a Psychopath. However, the title saw opposition from presidential mental health adviser and psychiatrist Ahmed Okasha, which led to the title change.

Galal’s prank show, which airs every Ramadan, always stirs much controversy.

The Ramadan 2020's season of the show was titled ‘Ramez Is Officially Crazy.’

In last year’s season of the show, Galal tricked Egyptian and Arab celebrities into attending what they think is a talk show in Dubai, only to find themselves strapped into a mechanical chair and ordered by Galal to repeat phrases glorifying him or demeaning themselves. If they refuse, they are threatened with electric shocks or a live snake.

Since it started airing, the show has triggered widespread criticism, with legal complaints calling for its suspension due to its "sadistic" and "inappropriate" content.

Despite the criticism, MBC network has not suspended the show, which has been airing for several years during Ramadan, each time creating controversy when Galal crosses a line with the viewers and his guests.
