Many artists, critics and artistic organisations, including the Cinematic Syndicate, have expressed mourning over the death of the multi-talented artist, who created and contributed to many Egyptian TV and films classics in his six-decade career.

The 1930-born Nabih wrote and directed a number of Egyptian TV family classics including ‘Feh Haga Ghalat’ (1983), ‘A’elat Al-Ostaz Shalash’ (1990), and ‘Ehna Fein’ (1994). One of his last works was 2010’s ‘Si Omar and Laila Afandy.’

The multi-award-winning artist also directed a number of films including ‘3 Qesas’ (1968) ‘As’aab Gawaz’ (1970), ‘Al-Shaitan Yadoq Al-Bab’ (1976), and ‘Al-Moshagheb Settah’ (1988), collaborating with different generations of the Egyptian cinema industry.

Starting as a sound engineer before practicing photography and editing for years, Nabih appeared in various roles as an actor in the 1950s, including in ‘Sout Men El-Mady’ (1956), ‘Ayna Omry’ (1956), ‘Sager El-Nesaa’ (1958), and ‘Ya Habibi’ (1960). His role in Shady Abdel-Salam’s ‘Al-Mummia’ (1969) was among his most remarkable performances.
