Television channel El-Nahar Drama released a teaser of the upcoming TV series ‘Wojoh’ (Faces) starring Hanan Motawie.

Scheduled to be screened during the holy month of Ramadan, which will begin in April this year, Wojouh is directed by Moataz Hossam and written by Mohamed Ali Ibrahim.

“How many faces can you see in your life without forgetting them? How many faces can you live with and trick those around you with?” reads a note that accompanies the teaser.

From the minute-long teaser, we can presume that the character portrayed by Motawie is that of a troubled woman, however, no further plot details can be surmised from the trailer.

Wojouh also features Mahmoud Abdel-Moghni, Hala Fakher, Abed Anani, Nourhan, Rania Mallah, among other well-known actors.

A graduate of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art, Motawie, 43, launched her acting career in a 2001 TV series titled Hadith El-Sabah wa El-Masaa (A Dialogue of the Morning and Evening) based on the novel by the same title for Nobel Laureate Naguib Mahfouz and starring the late Dalal Abdel-Aziz, Salwa Khattab, Laila Elwi, and Ahmed Zaher.

Working in numerous films and television, Motawie portrayed many remarkable characters, including Injy in Ahmad Abdalla’s film ‘Heliopolis ‘(2010), Soraya in Hala Khalil’s film Cut and Paste (2006), and Abla in the 2017 television series Haza El-Masaa (Later Tonight).

Most recently, Motawie played Manal Hassan in ‘Cairo: Kabul’, a 2021 television series which saw Tarek Lotfy, Fathy Abdel-Wahab and Khaled El-Sawi in main roles.
