With the monthly subscription expected to cost about EGP 50, Disney+ will be available in Egypt starting 8 June.
The streaming platform — which is already available in 18 countries — offers exclusive original content and thousands of episodes and movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
New releases that will be available on the service when it launches include Egyptian director Mohamed Diab’s Marvel Studios series ‘Moon Knight’ starring Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector — a mild-mannered gift-shop employee that is plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. The show premiered on Monday.
Other productions on the service include Star Wars’ ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ and ‘The Mandalorian’ as well as Academy Award-nominated ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings’ and Academy Award-nominated ‘Luca’, along with Academy Award-winning films ‘Encanto’ and ‘Cruella.’
With its English and Arabic-dubbed and subtitled content, Disney+ will be competing with several streaming platforms that are already active in Egypt like Netflix, OSN, Shahid, Watchit, and others.
