This is unusual timing for a Ramadan series to start airing its episodes, as close to 30 other Ramadan television series are airing the first episodes of their series today, 2 April (1 Ramadan).
According to reports from the Betlo’ El-Roh’s cast and crew, the delay is caused by the highly demanding technical aspect of the series, especially scenes that include battles.
Shot mostly in Lebanon, the series delves into the situation with ISIS and women who have joined the organisation by marrying its members, with the series focusing on one such woman who dreams of eventually escaping the terrorist organisation and returning to Egypt.
Elham Shaheen — who stars in the series alongside Menna Shalaby, Ahmed Salah El-Saadany, Mohamed Hatem, and Ayman Azab — revealed that numerous scenes are very demanding in their editing process, and that the director needs more time to assure they come out in the best quality possible.
She added that the shooting will continue beyond mid-Ramadan.
The series is planned to screen exclusively on MBC channel.
This is not the only Ramadan 2022 television series that tackles the topic of ISIS. Another series titled El-Aedoon (‘The Returnees’) that is being directed by Ahmed Nader Galal is based on true stories that shed light on people who turned their backs on terrorist organisations.
The series, which began screening today on DMC, stars Amir Karara, Amina Khalil, Mohamed Farrag, Mahmoud Abdel-Moghny, Hany Ramzy, and Mohamed Mamdouh.
