On 12 April, Khaled Abdel-Rahman, the ambassador of Egypt to Korea wrote on Facebook interest in El-Kebeer Awi was increasing in Korea. He added that he was hosting over an Iftar banquet a group of Korean friends and representatives of Korean companies when some of the invitees, including Secretary-General of the Korean-Arab Association, referred to the series.

Abdel-Rahman added that the Korean media picked the news, publishing a number of articles on El-Kebeer Awi and the special customs and traditions adopted throughout Ramadan.
The Korean media underscored that the holy month in Egypt has a unique ambiance and that a large segment of the Egyptian population focuses on watching television series in Ramadan.
