30th Citadel Festival for Music and Singing
At the historic Citadel of Salah Al-Din.
The popular festival, which started 17 August, is hosting a series of concerts for renowned singers and bands until the end of August.
Among the most popular stars performing this week are Dina El-Wedidi (Wednesday 24 August), Nawal El-Zoghby (Thursday 25 August), Hany Shaker (Friday 26 August), Nesma Mahgoub and Hanan Mady (Saturday 27 August), Lena Chamamyan (Sunday 28 August), Tania Saleh and Black Theama (Monday 29 August), Nouran AbuTaleb and Mohamed Mohsen (Tuesday 30 August).
Premiere of new Egyptian film: Khetet Mazinger

Starring: Bayoumi Fouad, Mahmoud Hafez, Yasmeen Raess, Hamdy El Marghany and Isamael Farghali.
Directed by Ramy Rizkallah, this comedy thriller revolves around a couple who wants to get married, so they collaborate with friends to commit a kidnapping that turns into a disaster.
Other films premiering this Thursday in Egypt include ‘Tad: The Lost Explorer and the Emerald Tablet’, and ‘Nope’.
Exhibition: Masterpieces XVI

This week is the last chance to check out “Masterpieces XVI”, a summer collective art exhibition presented by the gallery for the 21st consecutive year, and it will be closing on 31 August.

The 67-year-old Egyptian star singer Mohamed Mounir, dubbed the King, will fuse some Nubian tunes with pop arrangements, singing some of his evergreen hits like Al-Leila Ya Samra, Shabaeek, Lamma Al-Naseem, Ashky Le-Mein, Ally Soutak, Younis, and Alemouny Eineeky, in addition to his latest release Lelly, written by Akram Hosny.
Mazaher ensemble (Zar)

The musicians of Mazaher, Um Sameh, Um Hassan, and Nour El-Sabah are among the last remaining Zar practitioners in Egypt. The music is inspired by the three different musical styles of the Zar tradition practiced in Egypt.

Ramadan is gearing up for another gig in Alamein in what is promising to be the ‘biggest concert in North Coast’ as the season end approaches.
