Art Alert: Egypt's painter, caricaturist George Bahgoury to exhibit 'Life Notes'

Starting 3 February, the Picasso Art Gallery will display 'Life Notes,' a new exhibition of paintings by George Bahgoury.

Bahgoury is one of Egypt’s most renowned contemporary artists. Throughout the many decades of his career he was mostly influenced by expressionist and cubist schools. Among his many thematic choices, Egyptian folk art remains dominant characteristic of his paintings. 

Bahgoury however also explores other art mediums, including drawing, prints, photography and sculpture.

He is most famous as a caricaturist and political cartoonist. His caricatures are featured frequently in Al-Ahram's English language publication, Al-Ahram Weekly.
