The Residence of the European Union in Cairo will celebrate the success of an exhibition entitled "On the Move," gathering the work of several artists residing in Egypt on 19 September.
Six prominent contemporary artists working in Egypt, Georges Baghory, Ibrahim El-Haddad, Amre Heiba, Hani Rashed, Xavier Puigmarti, and Salah El-Mur, have been exhibiting the best of their work in the collective exhibition. The exhibition is organised with the collaboration of Mashrabia Gallery and has been open to the public at the residence since 8 June.
This is the fourth artworks exhibition taking place at the EU Residence since 2010. Previous exhibitions showed the works of artists Hisham El-Zeiny (Peripheries, April 2010), Ahmed Nosseir (Joyful Diversities, October 2010) and Salah El-Mur (Still There, April 2011).
The EU Residence has been recently home of a broad variety of cultural events and aims to become a centre for exchange where European and Egyptian cultures and artists could meet and co-create.
The exhibition will open every day between 20 September and 15 October, from Sunday to Thursday, between 3pm and 6pm.
