Spanish police discovered about 30 stolen art works, including a drawing by Pablo Picasso, in a van parked in an industrial estate near Madrid, a statement said on Monday.
Police were alerted when thieves offered one of the pieces, a sculpture by Spanish artist Eduardo Chillida, to a scrap metal dealer, a police statement said. This led investigators to the stolen works.
Thieves stole 28 contemporary art works from a lorry in the Madrid suburb of Getafe on November 27. The works belonged to galleries in Madrid and Barcelona and were on their way back from an exhibition in Germany.
Police confirmed that no arrests have been made.
